The new Strawn Wagner Museum, which pays tribute to all the famous miners in history, as well as the most famous diamonds ever found at the Crater, will officially open its doors the day after Thanksgiving. Come for the party!

Shirley Strawn, who is the curator and official tour guide, will give a tour of the mine and a class in diamond prospecting and how to use the equipment. The class which is approximately an hour and a half, costs $25 per group. Please make arrangements ahead of time if you are interested. The extended tour, is $50 per group and includes a tour of the mine where Shirley will personaaly accompany you for two hours at the mine and show you all the best spots to dig for diamons. Shirley has found over five hundred diamonds including the Strawn Wagner diamond, The Patriot among others.

Trout Stocking Dates

On Novmebr23rd, trout stocking is intended tp take place at Lake Catherine, Lake Hamilton and the UpperLittle Missouri River. The area immediately below Carpenter and Blakeley dams will both receive 1,350 fish on that day, while the Upper Little Missouri river will see the arrival of 1000.

Where else in the world can you actually dig for treasure and actually keep it? The Crater of Diamonds in Arkansas is the only public diamond mine where you can actually get a chance at finding a diamond...and yes it does involve some skill and knowledge.....claim it and name it.....and either keep it as a family heirloom or sell it for a small fortune.

Some of the most heartwarming stories we've come cross, as owners of a campground, include the young struggling writer who couldn't afford an engagement ring for his girlfrend and took her to the mine in the hopes of finding one...and did...fell on his knees and proposed to her....or another hopeless romantic and brought his grilfriend to the mine, planted the engagement diamond in the soil where she was digging, and when she unearthed it, proposed to her...only to have her think that he was a cheapskate...she actually thought that she'd found a diamond and it took some convincing before she believed his story......the little girl who found the diamond on the way out by the wayside that was worth $50 000, and the stories of some of the regulars who have put their kids through college over the years.....we are honored to be part of these priceless memories and we hope to contribute in our own small way to these unforgettable
moments....hence the teepees, treehouse and a little menagerie that consists of fainting goats, a Turken(half chicken half turkey) peacocks, a goose that follows you around like you're Mother Goose....all the animals by the way are free to roam.....if you'd like to be part of this magical place of God's earth that we've stumbled upon and helped create and maybe even find a small fortune
